Break Up

#Storyboarding    #3D Motion

This storyboard is a proposed title sequence for ep. 339 of the popular podcast This American Life. The theme of this episode is something universally relatable; break ups. The images depict two hands slowly pulling away from one another. This simple movement tells the story of a couple disconnecting over time. Using proximity and composition, the hands express the pain and longing of a regrettable breakup The hands are depicted in a stone texture, referencing both classical sculpture and gravestones. Classical sculpture is an ancient art form, and referencing it in the context of a breakup speaks to how integral to the human experience love and loss are. The reference to gravestones speaks to the sense of tragedy felt by the narrator, and the process of grieving a failed relationship.
